Bahrain’s Health Ministry has unveiled plans to pump BD270 million ($718.08 million) into 18 new projects under the GCC ‘Marshall’ plan.
Under-secretary for Hospital Affairs Dr Amin Al Saati said that a timetable has been drawn up to carry out the planned schemes.
A 60-bed dialysis center costing BD8 million has already been approved and will be constructed in the Southern Governorate, he said. The green light has also been given to construct a BD8 million hospital to treat chronic diseases in Muharraq.
“Work on both projects is expected to last from 30 to 35 months,” Dr Al Saati said. Other projects, including public hospitals and specialized diabetes, health and rehabilitation centers, are also in the pipeline.
