The plan reflects Riyadh’s vision not only to host a landmark event but to set a new benchmark for future global expos.
Strategic Location and Scale
Set in the Al Narjis District in northern Riyadh, the Expo site will span over six million square meters. Designed as a forward-looking urban space, the master plan integrates smart infrastructure, sustainable technologies, and efficient mobility systems. Its vast scale and strategic location underline Riyadh’s growing role as a global hub and a bridge between East and West.
Thematic Zones with Purpose
The site will be organized into five key thematic zones:
Saudi Arabia Area
International Collaboration Area
Innovative Technologies Area
Sustainable Solutions Area
Thriving Communities Area
Each zone will tell a distinct story aligned with Saudi Arabia’s broader development goals, such as preserving cultural heritage, fostering international partnerships, advancing technology, and promoting sustainability.
Global Participation and Recognition
The Bureau International des Expositions (BIE) has officially approved Saudi Arabia’s final submission, confirming the country’s readiness to host the event. Expo 2030 Riyadh is expected to welcome more than 195 participating countries and over 40 million visitors during its six-month run from October 1, 2030, to March 31, 2031—making it one of the most ambitious and inclusive expos in history.
