Hamad Medical Corporation’s (HMC) Home Health Care Services (HHCS) has been reaccredited by Joint Commission International (JCI) for the sixth consecutive cycle.
The recognition follows a comprehensive survey conducted in May 2025 under the latest JCI Accreditation Standards for Home Care. It underscores HMC’s consistent delivery of safe, high-quality, and person-centered care, provided to patients in the comfort of their homes and aligned with international best practices.
This achievement reaffirms HMC’s dedication to advancing the hospital-at-home model, ensuring patients receive specialized medical services while maintaining dignity, independence, and family-centered values.
Dr. Khalid Mohammed Al Jalham, HMC’s Chief Medical Officer, said:
“This reaccreditation from Joint Commission International highlights the outstanding quality and safety of our Home Health Care Services, which bring hospital-level expertise directly into patients’ homes. It reflects our commitment to innovative care that enhances outcomes, reduces hospital reliance, and supports the wellbeing of patients and their families across Qatar.”
Dr. Hanadi Al Hamad, Deputy Chief Medical Officer for Long-Term Care, Rehabilitation and Geriatrics, and Lead of Corporate Rehabilitation Therapy Services and Home Health Care Services, added:
“Achieving JCI reaccreditation for the sixth time is a testament to the synergy between clinical excellence, compassionate delivery, and health system innovation. HHCS demonstrates how complex care can be safely and effectively delivered within the community, upholding the highest standards of quality and person-centered care. Our teams go beyond providing medical treatment—they bring hope, dignity, and empowerment directly to patients’ homes.”
First accredited by JCI in 2009, HHCS continues to expand its services to hundreds of patients across Qatar, including those living with chronic and complex conditions. Its scope of care includes advanced wound management, long-term oxygen therapy, and palliative services, all delivered by specialized physicians, nurses, and allied health professionals.
The program has consistently shown improved clinical outcomes, reduced hospital readmissions, prevention of complications, and higher patient satisfaction—enhancing both health and quality of life.
