In a major milestone for sustainable urban development in Iraq, work has commenced on Bloom Village—the nation’s first large-scale, eco-friendly residential project.
Located south of Baghdad along the Dora–Yusufiya highway, the project is spearheaded by Al-Jidar Group for Real Estate and Industrial Investments. The development is designed to offer a healthier, greener lifestyle by integrating expansive green areas and mature trees to help maintain clean, unpolluted air.
A standout feature of Bloom Village is its complete reliance on solar energy, which will power residential units as well as service and recreational facilities.
Described by its developers as a “qualitative leap” in low-carbon urban living, the project aims to set a benchmark for environmentally responsible construction in Iraq. Al-Jidar Group hopes it will inspire other companies to follow suit and adopt similar green building practices in line with global sustainability trends.
