Egypt’s dietary supplement industry is experiencing rapid growth, now encompassing more than 4,000 companies and over 12,000 products produced across 41 factories licensed by the National Food Safety Authority.
According to Mohamed Anwar, head of the Egyptian Association of Supplement Producers and Exporters, the sector has become an important driver of economic growth, supporting allied industries such as packaging, logistics, and raw materials. He noted that the industry’s expansion — from just seven factories and around 1,000 products in 2021 — reflects its rising appeal for both domestic and international investors.
The association has set an ambitious target of $1 billion in supplement exports by 2030. Plans are underway to simplify product registration and enhance connections between Egyptian producers and international buyers, further integrating the industry into global markets.
