Iraq’s Ministry of Finance has signed two credit agreements with the Agence Française de Développement (AFD) to support key sanitation infrastructure projects.
The first agreement provides an additional €30 million loan for the ongoing sewage project in Anbar’s Khalidiya district, bringing total funding to €110 million.
The second allocates €100 million for a new wastewater treatment project in Hamza district, Diwaniyah.
Finance Minister Taif Sami highlighted that the deals will help transfer French expertise and technology in wastewater management to Iraq, improving public health and living conditions in the targeted areas.
