Located along Salalah’s Raysut Beach, Osara has emerged as one of the flagship tourism and entertainment destinations of the Dhofar Khareef Season 2025. Launched in 2022 as a youth-led initiative, the project has undergone notable enhancements this year, including a redesigned waterfront that now features expanded sea-facing areas, open-air seating, and a collection of restaurants and cafés overlooking the beach.
Majid Samhan Al-Mashli, one of the project’s founders, highlighted their commitment to innovation and visitor satisfaction, stating, “Since the launch of the project, we’ve focused on developing new ideas aligned with visitors’ aspirations. We continuously improve Osara’s facilities to elevate the tourism experience.” A new electric adventure zone was also introduced in 2025 to offer a safe and fun environment for children and families.
In addition to the scenic waterfront, Osara features a children’s playground, a traditional market showcasing Omani crafts and Dhofar’s signature products, and various retail outlets that support local brands and productive families. A dedicated theatre hosts cultural and entertainment programs for all ages, while serene beachfront seating areas offer visitors moments of relaxation.
Sustainability is at the heart of Osara’s identity. Built using recycled wood, the project reflects environmentally conscious design and stands as a model for sustainable tourism in Oman.
Supported by Dhofar Municipality, the Public Authority for Small and Medium Enterprises Development, and the Port of Salalah, Osara is a shining example of how youth-driven initiatives can enrich the local tourism landscape and promote eco-friendly development during the khareef season.
