Three four-star hotels planned
Adventure park set for Wadi Shab
Mixed-use developments to boost investment
Oman has awarded contracts exceeding $600 million to develop three new resorts and an adventure park, underscoring its ambition to compete with Gulf neighbors in attracting tourism revenue and creating employment opportunities for Omanis.
“This is another important milestone to attract more tourists and property investors as part of our Vision 2040,” Salim bin Mohammed Al Mahrouqi, Minister of Heritage and Tourism, told Oman Television.
The Ministry’s first project is planned for the Musandam peninsula along the Strait of Hormuz. It will feature a 200-room hotel and 450 beachfront properties open to local and international buyers.
The second project, Ibri View, is located about 250 km inland from Muscat in the town of Ibri. It will include a 250-room hotel and 300 residential units available for purchase.
Near Nakhal, around 90 km from Muscat, the third project will bring a 156-room hotel and over 500 properties to market.
The fourth initiative will create an adventure park and campsite in Wadi Shab, situated roughly 45 km southeast of Muscat.
“We need more tourists but we also need cash-rich investors to buy properties and live here,” said Saud Al-Hashmi, Managing Director of Muscat-based Capital Investments.
