Oman’s Ministry of Transport, Communications, and Information Technology has announced a significant investment of USD 260 million into the development of its logistics sector. The announcement was made during the celebration of “Logistics Day”, held at Al Bustan Palace Hotel under the theme “Logistics Technologies and Investment.”
According to the ministry, the event highlighted the growing importance of advanced technologies in improving the sector’s competitiveness, efficiency, and ability to attract investment.
As part of the celebration, 18 agreements were signed, covering a wide range of logistics-related fields, including ports, airports, transportation services, warehousing, and the integration of smart technologies.
The event also featured the presentation of the 2025 Logistics Sector Best Practices Award, recognizing outstanding initiatives and innovation within the industry.
In his opening remarks, Eng. Abdullah bin Ali Al Busaidi, Acting Head of the Oman Logistics Center, underscored the sector’s pivotal role in bolstering Oman’s national economy. He described logistics as a comprehensive and interconnected system, encompassing road networks, ports, border crossings, airports, logistics hubs, transport operations, and storage infrastructure—serving as the backbone for the country’s economic and service sectors.
