Saudi Arabia’s tourism sector saw unprecedented growth in 2024, attracting a record 116 million domestic and international visitors—a 6% increase from 2023—according to the Ministry of Tourism’s latest annual report.
Tourism spending reached SAR 284 billion ($75.7 billion), up 11% year-on-year, reinforcing the sector’s growing economic impact and its pivotal role in achieving Saudi Vision 2030 objectives.
International tourism saw especially strong performance, with 30 million inbound visitors—an 8% rise from the previous year—and spending totaling SAR 168.5 billion ($44.9 billion), a 19% increase.
Domestic tourism also remained robust:
86.2 million residents traveled within the Kingdom, up 5%
Domestic tourism spending reached SAR 115.3 billion ($30.7 billion)
Tourism Minister Ahmed Al Khateeb attributed this progress to the leadership’s strategic vision and strong national coordination, emphasizing tourism’s growing role in diversifying the economy, attracting investment, and creating jobs.
