Qatar’s Public Works Authority (Ashghal) has announced the completion of Package 3 of the Roads and Infrastructure Development Project in Al Wajba East, designed to serve 417 land plots.
Ashghal noted that the Al Wajba East development plan was divided into two packages. The first, finished in early 2024, covered 388 plots. With the completion of Package 3, the project now delivers a wide range of services to meet the needs of residents in this growing area.
According to Eng. Hamad Al Mejaba, Head of the Western Areas Section at Ashghal’s Roads Projects Department, Package 3 brings key upgrades through an enhanced internal road network, improved traffic safety features, and integrated infrastructure services that elevate residents’ quality of life.
Eng. Ghanem Al Tamimi, project engineer, highlighted that Package 3 delivered 17 km of internal roads to improve traffic flow and connectivity to public facilities. The works also included:
Installation of 854 lighting poles, road signs, and markings
Construction of 3,180 parking spaces
Creation of 34 km of pedestrian and bicycle paths
Ashghal emphasized that these improvements mark a significant step in advancing Al Wajba East’s infrastructure and supporting the community’s long-term development.
