Turkish construction companies are attending the second Turkey-GCC Business and Investment Forum to discuss construction projects worth $1tr in the GCC.
The two-day event (1-2 November) is co-organized by the Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI) and the Federation of Chambers of the Gulf Cooperation Council (FGCCC).
The forum is hosting 800 delegates from Bahrain, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and the Arab states, according to Daily Sabah.
A total of 250 Turkish participants are attending the forum to discuss construction projects worth $1 trillion with members of the GCC, including the UAE which holds $428bn in the projects, and Saudi Arabia which has invested $417bn.
Turkey's major construction firms continued talks with Arab states regarding potential investments in the project.
Turkish businesspeople from the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey (TOBB) arrived in Bahrain, accompanied by customs and trade minister Bülent Tüfenkçi, for the second Turkey-GCC Business and Investment Forum on ‘Strategic Economic Partnership’.
During the forum, Minister Tüfenkçi stressed that the meeting of 800 businesspeople is crucial for the strengthening of commercial and economic relations between Turkey and the Arab states.
