Qatar’s Public Works Authority (Ashghal) is set to award the design and lead consultancy contract for the Al Hidaya Schools for Special Needs project during the third quarter of 2025, according to a source familiar with the matter.
The tender was initially floated on December 2, 2024, with bids originally due by January 26, 2025, later extended to February 2, 2025. While the exact award date remains undisclosed, the project’s completion has reportedly been rescheduled from Q2 2027 to Q4 2028.
Valued at approximately $100 million, the project will deliver four purpose-built schools for students with special needs across strategic locations in Qatar:
Al-Wakrah/Al-Wukair: Girls’ school spanning 25,013 sqm
Bani Hajer/Al-Rayyan: Girls’ school covering 23,531 sqm with an additional 4,362 sqm allocated for parking
Muaither/Al-Rayyan: Boys’ school on a 25,284 sqm site
Al-Hilal/Al-Nuaimah: Girls’ school spanning 13,773 sqm
