The country’s population stood at the highest ever in its history, as per the findings of the Qatar Statistical Authority (QSA), released earlier this week, based on the figures taken at the end of April.
The latest figure of 1,944,953, is 24,155 more than the figures of March 31, 2013, it is understood. There are 1,437,392 males in the country, it said.
Along the same time last year the Qatar population was 1,792,134, which included 465,043 males. It shows a growth of almost 8% in one year.
The latest figure also shows that the women’s population is 507,561.
This is almost the figure of the entire population of the country, almost 11 years ago, inquiries found.
In the March figures, there was a fall in the numbers and the women’s population stood at 497.178, against the February figure of 500,389.
If the current trend goes on, the population may exceed 1.95mn by the end of this month.
