Khayyat Contracting and Trading (KCT) has completed construction of the 24,000m2 DoubleTree Suites by Hilton hotel in Doha.
The property, which contains three basement floors and 15 upper storeys, is a 75m-high tower with a total of 186 rooms and suites, a rooftop sky bar and pool deck on upper levels, two ground floor restaurants, a second floor, 90-space banquet area, a spa, gym, mosque and a children's play area.
The hotel has a 250m2 presidential suite on the 14th floor offering views across the corniche, and there is a 27m-high internal glass atrium running from the third to the ninth floors topped with a 25m chandelier.
The hotel has been designed by architects Erga, with DWP Interior Design creating the interiors.
The company's managing director, Moataz Al Khayyat, said: “The early phase of this project was particularly challenging as we had a limited footprint to work on in terms of both storage and laydown area, something that was exacerbated during shift changes that included 1,100 people working in two shifts around the clock.
"This being said, the remainder of the work has gone very smoothly and we look forward to the Hilton being able to welcome their first guests in a few months from now.”
KCT has also recently completed the Lekhwiya Stadium in Doha and is currently working on the Mall of Qatar project.
