Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammed S. Al-Sudani concluded his visit to Al-Muthanna Governorate, where he inaugurated and launched several significant projects spanning energy, housing, healthcare, infrastructure, and industry.
Key Developments:
Energy Sector:
- Commenced construction of the Samawa Gas Power Plant (250 MW) as an investment project.
- Approved the establishment of a new electricity production branch in Al-Muthanna.
Housing & Infrastructure:
- Launched construction of Al-Ghadeer Residential City (40,000 housing units), including 10,000 units for educators.
- Initiated an integrated sewage project in Samawa.
- Inaugurated the Hajama-Sawa railway line and three concrete bridges.
Infrastructure Investment:
- Allocated 736 billion dinars for seven major projects, including:
- Al-Rumaitha Hospital (200 beds).
- Multiple wastewater treatment and sewerage projects across the governorate.

- Launched construction of Al-Khidhir General Hospital (100 beds).

According to the Prime Minister’s Office, these initiatives align with the government’s development strategy, aiming to improve infrastructure, enhance essential services, and drive economic growth in Al-Muthanna.
